Topography of Venus

Topography

No peak rises here,
only a wave,
shaped by breath
and arrival.

Not a place to conquer,
but to return to.
A space no one owns,
yet many remember.

She does not speak,
she whispers in form.
In hair,
in skin,
in the softness of roots.

To truly see her
is to see not just skin.
But story.
And the right
to be seen.

Project Description

Topography of Venus is an ongoing photographic series exploring the diversity of female bodies – with a particular focus on the mons pubis. Whether natural, smooth, tattooed, or anything in between: each form tells its own story and becomes a landscape in itself.

The black-and-white photographs isolate this intimate area into shape, texture, and light. When present, pubic hair becomes line, shadow, signature. These are anonymous portraits that remain deeply personal – avoiding erotic clichés in favor of quiet presence and visual honesty.

Each image is paired with a woman’s first name and accompanied by a poetic text that doesn’t explain, but reveals – gently, in fragments.

Artistic Intention

This project is a quiet counter-narrative to today’s retouched, hairless body ideals. It’s not about provocation, but about visibility. Not about perfection, but about reality.

Topography of Venus creates space for dignity, softness, wildness – and for a new visual language in how we approach intimacy, the body, and self-expression.

It aims not just to be seen – but to resonate.
Not just to show – but to tell.

Every landscape is different and unique – also yours.

If you feel seen by this work – or wish to become visible – I’d love to hear from you.
