“And if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.”
[Friedrich Nietzsche]

She appears only after dark,
faceless, untouchable,
yet always present.

My queen of shadows,
born from dream and desire,
a sovereign within my soul,
ruling me
without ever revealing her name.

I call her
my Dark Desire.

“Eroticism is the approval of life up to the point of death.”
[Georges Bataille]

She strips not only her body,
but peels away my resistance.
I obey,
not out of fear,
but hunger,
for erasure,
for surrender.

By day,
she hides in the folds of my being.
But as night falls,
she rises once more,
merciless,
inevitable.

And I fall.
Again and again.
